After years of teaching in many capacities, my husband, Dave and I have launched an initiative to help students, both youths and adults, in the areas in which we have become really proficient. You might even say we are "experts" in some fields. Our website is at YourTutorTeam.com. My husband is a great teacher in both English and Spanish, from ESL beginners to graduate students. I have taught elementary classes at all grade levels, K-5, with an emphasis on English Language Learners (ELL) and struggling students. While raising four children I was a substitute teacher for elementary, middle and high school students. My life has been dedicated to children, always teaching with patience and kindness, first. See below for my specialties and experience, and contact me at YourTutorTeam.com.

My favorite job! I taught in a classroom where 2/3 of the students had home languages other than English. This school, Miner Elementary in So San Jose, included families from the Silicon Valley to low-income families, as it was a Title 1 school. The diversity in the classroom was a challenge but joyful at the same time. There seemed to be one surprise after another watching these students seamlessly build a community together. One of the students sent me a copy of her college entrance letter years later. She was new to our country when she arrived in my classroom, and challenged by the cultural shock. She insisted on waiting by the staff lounge so she could help her teacher during lunch recess. In this letter she beautifully expressed her emotional turmoil through all this and contributed her success to her favorite teacher, me. I was so honored, indeed a highlight of my teaching career.
I did tutoring for families in Twain Harte, including siblings in primary and upper elementary school. Most of the students needed support in homework and math.
