Class Overview

The voice is a direct connection to who the singer is and what they feel. It is my goal to help students tell their own personal stories by developing creative and deep connections to the songs that they may sing. By focusing on developing a healthy vocal technique and constructive habits, the singer becomes free and flexible to interpret songs in the manner they wish.

I enjoy singing a wide variety of music, but my specialties include Jazz, R&B/Soul, and Pop and love to help songwriters strengthen their own unique voice. I have been privileged to study with prolific songwriters, vocalists, and instrumentalists such as Nick Hakim (NPR Tiny Desk-"Green Twins"), Jamie Leonhart (regular performer at Joe's Pub NYC-"The Truth About Suffering"), LaTanya Hall (Steely Dan), Kevyn Lettau (Sergio Mendes, Jazz vocalist) and more. I am completing my BFA in Jazz Performance- Voice this December 2019, and have been actively performing for ten years.

This past summer I was able to be a supporting and featured vocalist on Kevyn Lettau's tour in Manila, Philippines during September 2018. It was exciting for to sing in my mother's birth country. I am so thankful to have the opportunity to play and share music with students and audiences !!
