I'm Ilaria or just Ila for short. I'm a bilingual, professional English and Italian teacher, who has been working in education in the UK and abroad for over 8 years.
I was born in Italy but moved to the UK at age 6 and have lived and worked in both countries. Coming from a multicultural background led me to study Linguistics and Cultural Mediation at the University of Milan and later take a Mater's degree in Multilingualism at the University of Oslo, Norway. I love languages and helping others learn, I passed my CELTA teacher qualification in Oxford in 2015 and have been teaching ever since!

• Teaching general English lessons to a variety of learners such as professional adults, secondary school students and nursery children, both away on school sites as well as on company premises. • Teaching exam preparation classes for Cambridge PET (B1) and Cambridge FCE (B2) to both professors and students at a public secondary school with over 90% pass rate. • Teaching IELTS exam preparation classes to individual young adults with a 100% pass rate.
• Preparing and teaching general English lessons at A2-C1 level to over 100 junior 14 -17 year old, mixed-ability, international students across four sessions of summer courses. • Leading, supervising and safeguarding large groups of students during afternoon and evening sports / social activities and excursions. • Completing key administration tasks, such as placement testing, attendance records and reports.
• Planning and provision of online English lessons to a wide variety of international students, ranging from children to professional adults, tailored to meet individual learner goals and needs. • Preparing lesson materials and conducting preparation courses for English language proficiency tests at all levels, such as Cambridge Flyers (A2), Cambridge PET (B1), Cambridge First (B2), Cambridge Advanced (C1), Cambridge Proficiency (C2) and IELTS. • Teaching Business English to company employees to increase professional prospects and productivity and/or improving communication between international offices and headquarters.
Teaching online General English and Italian lessons to learners of all levels and ages for the purposes of bettering their communication skills in social, travel, and daily life contexts. • Preparation of teaching materials and lesson plans tailored to meet individual student needs, with continuous feedback and assessment. • Provision of exam preparation courses for English language proficiency tests such as Cambridge Flyers/ KET (A2), Cambridge PET (B1), Cambridge First (B2), Cambridge Advanced (C1), Cambridge Proficiency (C2), IELTS, TOEFL as well as industry-specific examinations such as the OET. • Personalised Business English lessons for professional adults from a wide variety of backgrounds and sectors to help improve their career prospects and in-company communication skills. • Interview preparation coaching alongside CV, cover letter, and email correspondence proofreading. • Tutoring in English for academic purposes and essay writing skills. • Phonetic training for young learners and accent reduction for intermediate to advanced students
