Class Overview
I provide expert guidance in academic, scholarly, and professional writing for high school students, college learners, graduate candidates, and working professionals. Whether you are developing essays, research papers, or advanced thesis-level work, you will receive structured support tailored to your goals and level.
Instruction focuses on generating strong ideas, organizing content effectively, and refining grammar, clarity, and word choice. Students learn how to build clear arguments, strengthen analysis, and present writing in a polished, professional tone.
For career-focused writers, sessions also address workplace communication, including reports, proposals, and other professional documents. Emphasis is placed on precision, audience awareness, and persuasive impact.
Each lesson is personalized to help you write with confidence, accuracy, and purpose—whether in the classroom or in a professional setting.
English. Classes are for ages 15 through adult years
Students should have a basic understanding of English (intermediate level or higher recommended for ESL learners). Bring a current assignment, writing sample, or clear goal for each session. Be prepared to actively participate in brainstorming, drafting, and revision. Access to a computer or tablet for writing and document sharing. Willingness to receive and apply feedback on grammar, structure, and clarity. For academic support: provide assignment guidelines, rubrics, or prompts when available. For professional writing: share relevant context, audience, and purpose of the document. Commitment to improving writing skills through practice between sessions.
What to Bring to Class--Your learning and end product will be better if you consider having ready the following: A current writing assignment, draft, or topic idea--Assignment instructions, rubric, or guidelines (if applicable)--Notebook or digital document for notes and revisions--Laptop or tablet (recommended for real-time editing)--Questions or specific areas where you need help--For ESL students: a willingness to practice and ask questions--For professional writing: background information, target audience, and purpose of the document
You surely will have a dozen of your own questions. Take the leap and give me a call--888-258-2560, or email me at [email protected] will give you the most honest answers possible. I won't try to sign you up, and there is no obligation--the way I get clients is by helping them decide what is best for them, not by pressuring them. You need time to decide things about your budget, your need for individual instruction, and other alternatives. No matter what you decide, I wish you luck in all your efforts.
I prefer Google Meet. You don't even need to download an app. You just give me your email address, I send you an invitation, you click on the link in the invitation and VOILA! we are linked. I can accomodate other platforms like Zoom, but Google Meet is by far the easiest and less restrictive.
Students and professionals aren’t just looking for “a writing tutor”--not just someone who can correct spelling and punctuation. They’re looking for someone who can solve specific problems quickly and effectively, from the generation of the basic idea through the organization and structure, to the closing statement. I've been (1) a bachelors and masters candidate who created, wrote and defended a Master's thesis in college, (2) a commercial lender who has prepared hundreds of credit approvals, (3) a consultant who has prepared dozens of training programs for the world's largest banks, and (4) a consultant who has calculated the value of companies and presented the results to commercial interests, both buyers and sellers. These experiences, and a host of others, have given me inspiration and insight that will guide my clients through their assignments and projects from start to finish. Give me a call--888-258-2560, or email me at [email protected] let's talk about your project. Whether you hire me or not, I can promise you a valuable and fun experience--and there is charge for the first lesson/consultation.
Absolutely--some of these projects or assignments can take months to complete--it would be an unusual student that could remember everything without recording or taking lots of notes.
Of course. One reason you are not taking a class with a group of other learners is because those classes are generalized to meet the needs of maybe ten to fifty or more students. In my class, we will meet online one-on-one, and we will study exactly what you need to study.
Yes. Pay-as-you-go, one lesson at a time is $30/lesson (each payment is $30); if you pay for four lessons, they will cost you $25/lesson (payments of $100); if you pay for eight or more lessons, they will cost you $22.50/lesson (Payments of $180); if you take four lessons per week in four consecutive weeks, they will cost you $20/lesson (16 lessons, payments of $320). Lessons are 55 minutes long to allow us to do record-keeping between classes.
This depends on your financial situation, what you want to accomplish, and several things regarding your situation (Do you have a quiet study place? What is the size of your project?--etc. How often is also driven by your needs--are you completing a business consultation or a Master's thesis that is due next week?--this means you would want to take a lot of classes; on the other hand, if you have several months for completion, we can do fewer classes and finish a large part of the project in our meetings. Let's talk on the phone--888-258-2560, or email me at [email protected] I'll help you set this goal.
