Hello! I’m Viktoriia

I was born in a small Russian city next to the Arctic Circle. Later on, I moved to wonderful Saint Petersburg to study Art History and French. After my classes, I worked at the State Hermitage Museum with international volunteers organizing educational activities for the young museum visitors. Sharing knowledge with others proved to be an extremely rewarding experience that led me to teach Art and English at a local primary-middle school for a few years. At the same time, I became a private Russian and English tutor in Saint Petersburg. It's now been a bit more than five years since I started this career!

Now I'm teaching Russian at the University of the South, Sewanee, TN, and translating a book by famous Russian author Victor Pelevin into English.

Working with each student, I organize an individual educational program depending on the student's goals and interests. It's essential to me to make the process of learning a fun activity that fosters the student's motivation and greater interest in the subject. Besides nailing the basics of Russian grammar and speaking, our learning path will include a lot of visual, video, and music materials that will help you engage in the subject more productively.
