Class Overview

This class will focus on providing students with tools to help them to be successful on English Standardized Tests like: STAAR, LEAP, CAASPP, and other state assessments. Students will learn how to read for understanding by deliberately making connections to the text. Students will also learn how to identify key words in the question stems to help them to better understand exactly what the question is asking. Finally students will be given specific strategies to show them how to respond to writing prompts that require them to give short extended responses or extended constructed responses so that they can get the maximum points or their responses.
